First Look of Mercedes-Benz CLA250 2014

After dazzling us with the concept in Shanghai, Mercedes Benz pulled the wraps off the 2014 CLA-Class production model for just one night in Detroit, the evening before the Detroit Auto Show officially kicks off. The car will not be on the exhibit floor during the show as it officially debuts on January 15 at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. Touted as the baby CLS, the CLA a stunning four-door coupe that draws design inspiration from the CLS, with its length (all 182.3 inches of it) dictated by the A-Class. For the most part, Mercedes stuck close to the CLA concept's look in creating this new member of the luxury carmaker's growing lineup.

Hard creases across the sheet metal cut every possible panel starting with the hood and pushed out nose to its frameless doors and sloping roof that gives it such a unique profile. There's an elegant asymmetry to this car's lines that keeps your eye busy as you try to figure it out. There's also an
optional panorama roof.

2014 Mercedes Benz CLA200 Front 1 Mercedes has sprinkled LED jewels on the external mirrors, horizontal tail lamps and elongated headlamps (which have LED daytime running lights), making it sparkle from every angle. All of that bodywork apparently paid off in the wind tunnel, with the CLA-Class reaching a drag coefficient of .23 - the best of any Mercedes ever, as well as any other production vehicle, the company said. The interior takes on a less modern appearance but retains qualities found in the bigger CLS. Anthracite surface finish is standard trim, and optional choices include a forest of burl walnut or black ash wood, or aluminum. A freestanding 5.8-inch display is set in piano black with a silver frame in the center stack.Like all Mercedes, the new CLA-Class will offer connectivity and apps galore to connect the driver to the world through Mercedes Mbrace2 service. Buyers can upgrade to a 7-inch display screen and add Mercedes' COMAND system, which includes hard-drive navigation, voice controls, and an in-dash, six-disc CD/DVD changer. That system also includes a rearview camera and Sirius XM traffic and weather.

Mercedes will also offer a raft of performance technology such as its Collision Prevention Assist, which works at speeds above 4 mph. This radar-based braking system can warn drivers of a pending accident and pre-charge the brakes to create faster braking abilities. The CLA-Class lineup will also offer Distronic cruise control, lane keep assist, and blind spot detection system as part of a Driver
Assistance package.

While we haven't driven the CLA-Class, it looks   promising. Tipping the scales at 3264 pounds, the CLA-Class will be powered by Mercedes' 2.0-liter, turbocharged direct-injection inline-four aluminum engine. The engine creates 208 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque starting at 1200 rpm. The CLA-Class will also use Mercedes' seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The base CLA250 will arrive with 17-inch wheels, there will be an optional sports package upgrade, giving it 18's. Additionally, Mercedes will offer an all-wheel drive 4MATIC version of the CLA. Buyers will get the chance to add the CLA-Class to their families in September, when it is scheduled to start arriving at U.S. dealers.

New Range Rover 2013 Details, Photos Reveals by Land Rover

2013 Land Rover Range Rover homepage

Not only will the 2013 Range Rover offer significant weight savings and fuel economy improvements, but the next-gen SUV will also introduce a range of new features and tech to the nameplate when it arrives in North America this December. Land Rover has released more details on its upcoming flagship SUV leading up to its 2012 Paris Motor Show debut — a few highlights are summarized below.
Head here for details on Range Rover’s diesel hybrid, an SUV Land Rover says will be the “world’s most capable hybrid.”

High-Strength Aluminum and Weight Loss

2013 Land Rover Range Rover front end 2 300x187 imageAs we reported previously, the big news regarding the 2013 Range Rover is its all-aluminum chassis, which Land Rover says reduces weight by as much as 926 pounds compared to the outgoing model – though U.S. models equipped with the all-aluminum V-8 will see weight savings of about 700 pounds. Overall, the new Range Rover’s unibody is 39-percent lighter than the steel frame it replaces, with the body shell alone weighing 408 pounds less than the previous model’s.
Interestingly, the 2013 Range Rover marks the first time high-strength AC300 aluminum – found within the crash structure — is used in an automotive application. In addition, the vehicle’s bodyside is pressed as a single panel to reduce the amount of joints and improve structural integrity – another industry first, according to Land Rover. Up to 75 percent of the aluminum found in the Range Rover is recycled.

Efficiency and Luxury Updates

2013 Land Rover Range Rover cockpit 300x187 imageWith a drag coefficient of 0.34, the 2013 model is the most aerodynamic Range Rover ever, improving by 10 percent over the outgoing SUV. Also aiding fuel efficiency is the Range Rover’s new ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission, which is mated to either a 375-hp 5.0-liter V-8 in the standard model, or a 510-hp supercharged unit in the range-topping trim level. The automaker estimates 0-60 mph times of 6.5 and 5.1 seconds for the standard and supercharged models, respectively. Though it’s not quite stop-start, Range Rover’s new Transmission Idle Control disengages 70 percent of the driveline when the vehicle is stationary and idling in gear. Land Rover says this feature reduces fuel consumption in urban conditions. The new Range Rover also curbs its natural thirst with electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), which replaces the previous hydraulic setup. The new system adds the Park Assist ability, which can automatically parallel park the car.

2013 Land Rover Range Rover speaker 300x187 image

Of course, luxury and comfort were major focus points in the 2013 Range Rover’s development. Rear legroom grows by 4.7 inches, and the windshield and side glass are acoustically laminated for a quieter cabin. Further aiding ride comfort is Land Rover’s available Dynamic Response active lean control system, which minimizes body roll. The new Range Rover gains the Evoque’s Meridian audio system offered in three levels, with the top system boasting 29 speakers. A surround Camera System is new, and includes T Junction view, trailer reverse park guidance, and trailer hitch guidance. Towing capacity is 7716 pounds.
In typical Land Rover fashion, the 2013 Range Rover can be customized in a multitude of ways through the brand’s exclusive Autobiography series. A total of 37 exterior paint finishes are available, 22 of which are specific to the Autobiography program. Drivers can choose one of 17 interior color themes, and mix and match from the three available interior veneers (more choices will be offered after launch), three headliner colors, two available roof colors, and eight alloy wheel designs ranging in size from 19-22 inches. A new two-seat rear seating package is available, as well. Because one of Land Rover’s goals was to simplify and refine the Range Rover’s interior, the 2013 model features half as many buttons in the control layout compared to the outgoing model.

Off-Roading Tech

2013 Land Rover Range Rover side in motion 6 300x187 imageLastly, the British marque retained the Range Rover’s capability with a redesigned air suspension and full-time intelligent four-wheel-drive system. Utilizing a fully independent, wide-spaced double-wishbone setup in the front and multi-link design in the rear, the new suspension system offers extended wheel travel at 10.2 inches of movement in front and 12.2 inches in the rear. In the highest suspension setting, the Range Rover’s ground clearance is 0.67 inches higher than the previous model, at 11.9 inches, allowing for better approach and departure angles. The four-wheel-drive system’s two-speed transfer case allows for a 50/50 torque split, and offers a low-range option for off-roading or towing. The next-gen Terrain Response system monitors driving conditions through various onboard sensors and automatically adjusts vehicle settings to suit the terrain.
2013 Range Rover deliveries in the U.S. are scheduled to start this December.

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S 2013 First Look

2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S And Carrera 4 Rear Right View photo

We've just crowned the Porsche 911 Carrera S our 2012 Motor Trend Best Driver's Car, but you can be assured the engineers in Stuttgart (while no doubt delighted) aren't even remotely done. They're busy remixing "the best 911 yet." As with the 997-generation model before it, a parking lot full of 991 series variants are on the way, starting with the all-wheel drive 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and 4S making their world debut at the 2012 Paris auto show.
Other than the latest version of Porsche's all-wheel drive system, most of the other mechanical bits of the Carrera 4 and 4S are identical to that of the fantastic new 911, including the suspension, brakes, electromechanical steering, and flat-six engine out back. That means both cars will be powered by the same direct-injected flat-sixes used in the their rear-drive siblings, with the Carrera 4 getting a 3.4-liter engine rated at 350 hp and 287 lb-ft of torque and the 4S fitted with the 3.8-liter mill making 400 hp and 325 lb-ft. A seven-speed manual is standard transmission for both models, with Porsche's PDK seven-speed dual-clutch automatic available as an option. All told, the numbers represent a power boost of 5 and 15 hp respectively over the outgoing 4 and 4S models.

2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Front Left View photo
2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Rear View photo
In addition to more horses, Porsche made sure the 991 Series 911 was also lighter. The automaker claims the new 4 and 4S are up to 143 pounds lighter depending on the equipment and body style (both will be offered as a coupe or convertible). Porsche claims the 4S coupe will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds, a couple of ticks better than the outgoing car, although the automaker doesn't specify which transmission achieved that time. The PDK-equipped Carrera S coupe is also estimated at 4.1 seconds, although we recorded a 3.7-second time during the 2012 Best Driver's Car test runs.
We expect to see the advantages of the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system on our figure eight course. The rear-drive Carrera S posted an excellent time of 24.2 sec @ 0.84 g, we should see similar or better numbers from the all-wheel drive cars. The latest version of PTM will no doubt come in handy should you get too overzealous on your favorite canyon road.

Like the outgoing models, unique visual cues will include rear fenders widened by 0.87 inches each, pulled out to accommodate the wider rear tires (stretched by 0.4 inches). A red light bar is placed above the central 4 or 4S badges, and is flanked by the two slender taillights. Inside, a new menu can be found on the instrument cluster display, which shows how the PTM system is distributing power to the wheels. Additionally, Porsche is using the 4 and 4S to debut a few new upgrades that will also trickle down to the rear-drive 911s, including the automaker's adaptive cruise control system as part of its Porsche Active Safe suite of collision avoidance technologies (PDK models only). And models with the manual transmission and Sport Chrono pack also receive a new Sport Plus mode feature that automatically double-declutches on downshifts.
After the latest 911 variants debut at next month's Paris auto show they're expected to reach U.S. showrooms in February. The Carrera 4 will start at $91,980 for the coupe and $103,880 for the cabriolet (including $950 destination fee). The 4S coupe and convertible will begin at $106,580 and $118,480, respectively. So which new 911 variant can we expect next? We're not sure, but now that the all-wheel-drive foundation has been laid, it's only a matter of time before Porsche adds a turbo or three.

Uncovered Officially The 2013 Honda Accord Sedan

2013-honda-accord-touring-sedan-front-side-view

After months of catching 2013 Honda Accord prototypes, the redesigned midsizer has finally been revealed. The first official 2013 Accord photos show more sophisticated styling that should work in the midsize Honda’s favor when the car rolls into showrooms this fall.

2013 Honda Accord Officially Uncovered! 2013 Accord Photo Gallery Inside imageJudging from the photos, the 2013 Honda Accord sedan appears to have evolved into a slightly more refined piece of machinery. The resculpted hood and revised lower front fascia give the sedan a more muscular look, while the previous model’s bulbous rear end has been smoothed out. Pictured is a new 2013 Honda Accord sedan in Touring trim, a top-of-the-line model we’ve seen on the Odyssey. A car like the 2013 Honda Accord Touring – with the available LED daytime running lights – could compete with higher-price offerings like the 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium and 2013 Kia Optima SX Limited.
2013 Honda Accord Officially Uncovered! 2013 Accord Photo Gallery Inside imageThe 2013 Honda Accord will be powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four with at least 181 hp, mated to a continuously variable transmission or six-speed manual. An optional 3.5-liter V-6 will produce at least 271 hp, and can be coupled to a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission (the latter, likely only on the 2013 Accord coupe). As for the plug-in hybrid, that Accord will use a 2.0-liter i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with an electric CVT and have an all-electric mode that could have a 10-15 mile range.
As we’ve previously reported, the 2013 Accord will feature the automaker’s latest cloud-based infotainment system called HondaLink. The new setup brings a variety of apps such as Yelp and Slacker Radio, as well as audio books, and podcasts to the cockpit through the use of steering-wheel-mounted controls, in-dash controls, and voice commands. Even on the go, Accord drivers stay in the loop thanks to Facebook and Twitter feeds that can be read aloud.
Stay tuned for full details on the 2013 Honda Accord sedan and coupe as its launch date approaches.
The 2013 Honda Accord sedan and coupe exteriors are pictured in the gallery below along with 2013 Accord prototype interior photos.

BMW AirFlow 2 helmet awarded ‘best of the best’ red dot awards

BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles have both been honoured in the annual ‘red dot’ design awards that recognise outstanding design quality. Two of the BMW Group’s products – the BMW AirFlow 2 helmet and the Husqvarna Nuda 900 R motorcycle – are the proud recipients of the coveted ‘best of the best’ red dot awards for the highest design quality, while four other BMW motorcycles and Maxi-Scooters have won the prestigious 2012 red dot award for high design quality.

Launched in 1955, the red dot award has become established as one of the most important design awards in the world. It recognises achievements in numerous categories such as automotive, architecture, domestic, consumer electronics, fashion, life science and medicine. This year, a jury of 30 members considered the designs of more than 4,500 products made by 1,800 manufacturers from 58 countries. Only a coveted few have received the prestigious red dot award, and the winners will be presented with their accolades at a special ceremony gala at the Aalto-Theater in Essen, Germany, on 2 July.

Recognising outstanding design quality, this internationally acclaimed label is awarded to products that have clearly set themselves apart from the competition by their particularly successful design solutions. The Airflow 2 premium jet helmet uses a unique and highly-effective ventilation system to help keep riders cool. BMW Motorrad designers have focussed on the optimisation of ventilation and air circulation, with large air-vent openings, ideally positioned and shaped to catch the slipstream. Multiple air channels in the helmet’s inner shell to help distribute the ventilating air more effectively around the rider’s head.

A retractable and scratchproof curved visor can be raised or lowered depending on the conditions, and high-quality, BMW-branded aluminium highlighters at each side complete the AirFlow 2’s strikingly urban and modern look, which was designed very much to harmonise with the premium Maxi-Scooters that have come to the market in 2012.

The NUDA 900 R was the first step of the collaboration between BMW and Husqvarna to develop new road bikes. Conceived and designed for the street, it combines German technical brilliance with thrilling Italian style. As well as BMW's engineering, technology and reliability, it also offers undisputed aesthetic appeal. Being a Husqvarna, performance is everything, and thanks to the use of premium components throughout, the NUDA 900 R both looks and means business – a fact no doubt recognised by the red dot jury.

In addition to the ‘best of the best’ awards mentioned above, recipients of the red dot award for high design quality were the two new Maxi-Scooters from BMW Motorrad – the C 600 Sport and C 650 GT – as well as the single-cylinder G 650 GS and six-cylinder K 1600 GT.

The K-Series luxury tourer has received extremely positive press coverage in the media since its launch, and has been praised for class-leading levels of performance, handling and road holding. As for the G 650 GS, it is the latest incarnation of an extremely successful single-cylinder ‘go anywhere’ model range that combines great riding fun and value for money in an attractively designed package that performs and looks as good in the dirt as it does on the street.

For the two new Maxi-Scooters from BMW Motorrad to receive this special red dot recognition even before they go on sale to the public is yet another ‘feather in the cap’ for the BMW Group, which continues its career of excellence in design. Following on from the Concept C design study that signified the intentions of the German company to enter the Urban Mobility segment, the C 600 Sport and C 650 GT are the two serial production models that are currently arriving at dealerships across Europe in preparation for the new riding season.

In introducing not one, but two entirely new Maxi-Scooters to the market, BMW Motorrad believes that high-tech engineering can be combined with great design and advanced functionality to persuade weary commuters, car drivers and even motorcyclists to make the switch to one of its all-new, smooth-running scooters. Packed with technical innovations and built in Berlin, BMW Motorrad has used its many decades of motorcycling experience to create a new Maxi-Scooter series that it believes will attract many new converts to the brand.

From elsewhere within the BMW Group, there new 6 Series Coupé, 1 Series M Coupé, 6 Series Gran Coupé and M5 cars also won red dot awards this year.

First Look of 2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta

2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Front Three Quarter photo
Enough with the carefully orchestrated teaser videos, the spy shots, the leaked images. This is the real deal. This is our first official look at the 2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, which will replace the aging 599 GTB Fiorano in Ferrari's lineup after its debut on the world stage at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
While the F12 Berlinetta's general profile roughly resembles that of its predecessor, there's not a single bit of sheetmetal shared between the two cars. Styled by longtime design partner Pininfarina, the F12 Berlinetta is an interesting amalgamation of strong, flowing surfaces and existing design cues.
Up front, the F12 Berlinetta's long headlamps bear a resemblance to those of the 458 Italia, while a large egg crate grille -- much like that used on the four-wheel-drive FF -- dominates the lower half of the fascia. The F12's front fenders quickly taper to a narrow point, allowing the hood surfaces to wrap down and around the side of the car, terminating in a large V-shaped swage that curves upward into the rear fenders.

2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Left Side photo
While the F12's rear quarters are rather conservative, they're not without some dramatic flair. The lower edges of the rear valence curve downward, forming a surface that intersects the rear diffuser and neatly wraps beneath the bumper.
The F12's look will undoubtedly inspire heated debate among Ferrari aficionados and purists, but the automaker says the form is actually functional. Active shutters on the brake cooling ducts help reduce drag, while the so-called "Aero Bridge" scoops, located between the front-wheel arches and the cowl, channel air from the front of the car to its sides. Ferrari says the F12 Berlinetta boasts a 76-percent increase in downforce, along with a surprisingly slippery drag coefficient of 0.299.
If you think the F12 Berlinetta appears a little smaller than the outgoing 599, your eyes aren't deceiving you. Preliminary specifications indicate the F12 is about 2 inches shorter, 7/10 of an inch narrower, and 2.5 inches lower than its predecessor. The F12's body is also lighter than the 599's, thanks in part to a new aluminum-intensive spaceframe. An estimated curb weight of 3363 pounds means the F12 is not only 360 pounds lighter than the 599 GTB, but it's also about 176 pounds lighter than the hard-core, performance-tuned 599 GTO. As was the case on the 599, the use of a transaxle -- a seven-speed dual-clutch unit, in this instance -- allows the F12 to shift 54 percent of its curb weight to its tail end.
2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Cockpit Although Ferrari has previously dabbled with hybrid systems and forced induction, the F12 Berlinetta sticks to a time-tested tradition: a big, normally aspirated 12-cylinder engine.
The new F12 uses the same basic 6.3-liter V-12 as the FF wagon, but the engine appears to be much more powerful in F12 guise. According to Ferrari, it provides the FF with an incredible 730 horsepower at 8000 rpm, along with 508 lb-ft of torque at 6000 rpm. Early claims of the F12 Berlinetta becoming the most powerful (road-legal) Ferrari appear to be accurate. Not only does this mean the F12 Berlinetta eclipses the 599 GTB (600 hp/448 lb-ft) and the 599 GTO (660 hp/494 lb-ft), it also surpasses the original 599xx racer (720 hp/506 lb-ft) and comes close to the track-focused 599xx Evoluzione (750 hp/516 lb-ft).

2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Front photo
Coupled with the lightning-quick seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, Ferrari claims the 6.3-liter V-12 is capable of launching the F12 Berlinetta from 0-62 mph in a scant 3.1 seconds, and suggests a top speed just over the 211-mph mark. Ferrari is equally proud of two other performance metrics: When packaged with an optional start/stop system, the F12 can deliver a 30-percent increase in fuel economy, along with a 16-percent decrease in carbon dioxide emissions.
As is expected of such a machine, the F12 Berlinetta is equipped with Ferrari's full suite of performance-enhancing features, including E-Diff, ESP Premium, F1-Trac, and high-performance ABS algorithms. Carbon ceramic brakes are standard, as are Ferrari's revised adaptive magnetorheological dampers.
The F12 Berlinetta may be quick, but as Ferrari's premiere gran turismo, it can't skimp on interior amenities. Subsequently, we're not surprised to learn the cabin is covered in liberal amounts of Frau leather and carbon-fiber trim. Photos show an attractive saddle-hued interior, but as always, interior schemes are left to the customer's discretion (and budget).
2013 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Rear Three Quarter
The F12's dashboard largely resembles that of the FF, but there is one significant difference: It no longer packs a large, clunky-looking navigation unit into the center stack. Instead, the F12 displays all infotainment-related screens through the digital Human Machine Interface gauge cluster, controlled by a small bank of switches located to the right of the steering column.
Ferrari holds the F12 Berlinetta is the fastest, most powerful road car it's ever built. That's certainly true at this point in time, but it may not be for long. We hear the automaker is already preparing an 800-hp (or higher) variant of this engine for use in a successor to the fabled Enzo supercar, perhaps in time to debut by the end of this year. If so, the F12 may lose that crown, but it will remain one of the most powerful and desirable front-engine sports cars available on this planet.

Economy Five-Door Hatchback Comparison

Economy Five Door Hatchbacks 2 photo

Once upon a time, not all that long ago, if you were in the market for a small, five-door economy hatchback, you were swimming in cheap-infested waters. Automakers seemed to think of the buyers of small, inexpensive cars as nothing more than an inconvenience, a market that had to be pacified through the cheapest means possible.

Well, no longer. Today's economy car market has grown by leaps and bounds, especially in the past five years. The Honda Fit had something to do with that, showing consumers and other automakers that an economy car need not be a penalty box. Predictably, the Fit achieved meteoric sales, and the rest of the industry was forced to catch up.

Today, the Fit is several years into its second iteration, and the industry is, in fact, catching up. Since our last look at this market niche in mid-2010, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Chevrolet, and Mazda have all released brand-new players, while the current Fit is three years into its life cycle. Who stands ahead of the pack in 2012? To find out, we invited the Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, Kia Rio, Hyundai Accent, Mazda2, Chevrolet Sonic, Honda Fit, and Suzuki SX4 out for a couple days of testing and driving. The cars had to be five-door hatchbacks, and, to be equal, each had to have a manual gearbox. Ford said it didn't have a Fiesta for us, and neither did any rental agencies, but the other seven automakers were game.

And so the shiftbox revolution was upon us, as we set out to determine where your money would be best spent. The results may surprise you.

The new BMW M6 Coupé and the new BMW M6 Convertible

Two new high-performance sports cars. The BMW M6 Coupé and BMW M6 Convertible.

The new BMW M6 Coupé.
The new BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M6 Convertible offer top-class performance attributes and an ambience defined by luxury and innovative comfort features. In so doing, the high-performance sports cars developed by BMW M GmbH exude a level of poise and assurance unmatched in the premium segment of the executive class – and reflected authentically in the expressive design of the two models.

The new BMW M6 Convertible.
Classical proportions, the sporty yet elegant lines, powerfully taut surfaces and precise contours underline the athletic aura of the two models. In addition, a model-specific interpretation of hallmark M styling cues includes design details which are influenced directly by technical considerations – such as the cooling air required, chassis geometry and aerodynamics – and therefore further highlight the cars’ outstanding performance attributes.
Wide air intakes, stunningly contoured headlight units and large, smooth surfaces shape the front end of the new BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M6 Convertible. Another eye-catching element of the car’s nose is its newly designed M kidney grille, which bears an “M6” badge. The grille’s black, paired kidney grille slats take their cues from the characteristic double-spoke design of the M light-alloy wheels.
An LED accent light cuts across the tops of the Adaptive LED Headlights fitted as standard on both models. Their bright white, three-dimensional LED light rings are levelled off to striking effect at the top and lower edges. Both dipped beam and main beam use both light rings. Providing the light are LED units, which are placed on a horizontal rib running through the centre of the units and feed their light into the reflectors in front of them. This ensures that the distinctive appearance of the twin circular headlights comes across clearly in every situation.
The direction indicators – in the form of horizontally arranged LED units – are integrated into the headlight units below the light rings.
The familiar M athleticism of both models is also clearly visible from the side. The front side sections of the car feature familiar M gills. Their three-dimensional shaping, wide chrome frames and indicator bars – which bear the M logo – give them an extremely deep-set look. In tune with the wider wheel arches, the character lines around the gills are suitably prominent.
The new BMW M6 Coupe and BMW M6 Convertible are fitted with 19-inch M light-alloy wheels as standard. The forged wheels feature seven double-spokes in a two-tone finish. .
The optional 20-inch M light-alloy wheels, meanwhile, hint at reduced weight with their five intricate double-spokes and allow a clear line of sight through to the powerful braking system.
The new BMW M6 Coupe has a dynamically contoured, lightweight roof made from carbon fibre- reinforced plastic.
The new BMW M6 Convertible, meanwhile, is fitted with a high-quality soft-top, complete with eye-catching “fin” styling and fully electronic opening mechanism. All of which allows the driver and passengers to enjoy the dynamic performance of a high-performance sports car in harmony with the natural forces of the sun and wind.
Newly developed M sports seats offer the driver and front passenger optimum lateral support through quickly-taken corners, but also a high level of comfort over long distances.
The instrument cluster with black-panel technology features classical circular instruments in traditional BMW M style, with red needles and white illumination, as well as model-specific displays and the M logo in the rev counter.

Exclusive carbon-fibre interior trim strips.

Newly developed M leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles.
